Animal lovers give a £5,000 gift at Mayhew’s Christmas fair

Over 300 supporters started the party early at animal welfare charity Mayhew’s festive fair on Sunday 24 November.

Mayhew received a brilliant early Christmas present, with over £5,500 raised on the day, which will help the charity to rescue and rehome dogs and cats across London.

The funds raised will also go towards supporting pet owners who need help more than ever at this time of year. This year’s event was generously sponsored by Natusan, the natural clumping cat litter delivery service.

During the fair, guests were able to enjoy a behind the scenes look at Mayhew, including a tour of the cattery, meeting Santa Paws and picking up Christmas goodies, live entertainment and a chance to meet the TheraPaws dogs.

Guests were kept well entertained with live music from George Richie and kept warm with flowing mulled wine and delicious vegan mince pies.

A spokesperson for Mayhew commented: “Thank you to everyone who came along and supported our work. If you are still in the Christmas spirit, why not come along to Mayhew’s Carols at Christmas on Tuesday 3 December at the beautiful St-Giles-in-the-field? An evening of favourite festive tunes, heart-warming readings and very special guests is the perfect way to welcome in the season.”
