Dog owners invited to take part in national charity dog walk in Edinburgh

Pets As Therapy are hosting a charity dog walk to raise awareness of the work undertaken by the national charity.

The charity walk will take place in Edinburgh and is supported by Orvis Edinburgh, who will provide a meeting point and guide for the walk, as well as host a reception area at the store after the walk.

Pets As Therapy provides a visiting service in hospitals, care homes, special needs schools and a variety of other venues across the UK. Their trusted volunteers and temperament assessed pets help to enhance peoples’ lives and tackle loneliness in our communities by providing friendship and companionship to those in need.

The event, which will be held on September 22 will be a three-mile walk, approximately and will be accessible for people and dogs of varying abilities.

As well as enjoying a great day out with your pooch and like-minded dog lovers, dogs and their owners will be treated to a doggie was station, complimentary refreshments and a goodie bag to take away.

There will also be a member of the PAT team available to provide information and advice on how to become a PAT volunteer.

Deborah Dow, CEO, Pets As Therapy, said: “Pets As Therapy are incredibly grateful for the support of Orvis and are looking forward to welcoming dog walkers and spectators from the local area for this very special event.”
