Dogs Trust Canterbury annual fun day raises over £8000

Dogs Trust Canterbury is celebrating another successful annual fun day, where over £8000 was raised.

After many months of planning and organising, the team were delighted to welcome around 1,500 people to the event, which was held for the first time at the Faversham Showground on Sunday 14 June. This was the charity’s first annual Fun Day since 2017.

On the day, there were lots of highlights, including a Fun Dog Show where participants competed to be top dog in a range of classes from Marvellous Miniatures and Golden Oldies, to Best Biscuit Catcher and Waggiest Tail.

Dogs Trust Canterbury Supporter Relations Officers, Lara Murphy was delighted with the turnout of people and their generosity and said: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to the local community and our supporters, old and new who came along to help us raise such a phenomenal amount of money for the dogs in our care.

“It was a truly great fun family day out with something for everyone, delicious food, plenty of games and staffs for adults, children and dogs. We’d also like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped to make the event possible, in particular our amazing volunteers who willingly donated their time and contributed hugely to the success of the day.”

All the funds raised from the Fun Day will go towards helping the rehoming centre to continue providing homeless and abandoned dogs with the best possible care as they await their forever homes.

If you’d like to adopt a four-legged friend from the centre you can call 01227 792505 or visit www.dogstrust.org.uk.
