Pets at Home release half a million pounds to support animal charities

Pets at Home is celebrating the anniversary of its VIP Club by making a share of £500,000 available to animal charities cross the UK.

Every time a member of Pets at Home’s VIP Club makes a purchase and swipe their VIP card they collate Lifelines: points from the purchase which are converted into cash donations for 630 animal charities nationwide.

The VIP Club has over six million members who between them have 10 million pets and they are all helping to raise much-needed fund for charities.

Pets at Home wants to offer these charities even more support, which is why it has released an extra half a million pounds of support.

To get hold of some of the fund available, charities need to secure as many votes from Pets at Home customers and their supporters between 2nd and 31st May 2018, either in store or online.

One larger national charity will receive £52,500 including £50,000 cash from Lifelines funding. Then, within each store’s region, one local cause will secure £5,000 with £2,500 of Lifelines, a second will secure £2,500 with £2,000 of Lifelines and a third will win £1,000 in cash with £1,000 of Lifelines.

Ten runners up in each region will also receive £250 funding via Lifelines.

Gavin Hawthorn, Group CRM Director at Pets at Home, said: “We’re so proud that our customers are able to use their purchasing power to support the great work these animal charities do up and down the country.

“The VIP Club team wanted to do even more work to help these fantastic animal causes, which is why we’ve released an extra half a million of funding to support animals in need. I hope that our customers and animal lovers alike will help make sure their local deserving project gets the help it deserves by voting.”
