Rescue dog looking for home where he doesn’t have to walk alone

Ex-racing dog is looking for a new home where he can enjoy walks with the company of other dogs.

Staff at Dogs Trust Ilfracombe are hoping that a dog-lover and their four-legged friend will soon come along to adopt a dog who enjoys walks most when he has a furry friend by his side.

Ex-racing Greyhound, Dan is currently living life in a temporary foster home with his four-legged friends Charlie the Terrier and Rollo the Crossbreed. His foster carers say he enjoys plenty of fuss, soft squeaky toys and a walk, providing he has his buddies to walk with him.

Elise Watson, Rehoming Centre Manager at Dogs Trust Ilfracombe, said: “Dan is an absolute sweetheart, but he really needs a canine chum to give him the confidence to realise that the big wide world isn’t that scary. He enjoys his walks but is far happier when he can share a stroll with another doggie friend. Placing him in a foster home with an existing dog has worked wonders for his confidence so we definitely want him to go to a forever home with an existing dog.

“He is a really lovely, clever boy and adores his food, so he is doing well with his training. He would love a quiet home with a nice big garden where he could thrive at the heart of the family and can with children ahead over 14. We’re hoping that very soon he’ll be in a forever home of his own and can finally walk along with another doggy friend for the rest of his life.”

If you think you could offer Dan the perfect home, so he doesn’t have to walk alone, please call 0300 303 0292 or visit www.dogstrust.org.uk.
