Best buddies needing ‘fur-ever’ home together

Dogs Trust Cardiff is hoping this devoted duo don’t have to wait too much longer for their forever family to come along, after receiving very little interest since they arrived at the rehoming centre in January.

Ten-year-old Pug cross Maxie and three-year-old Chihuahua cross Buddy are an inseparable duo, with Maxie being the more confident of the two, whilst Buddy likes to follow Maxie’s lead.

Kim Davies, Dogs Trust Cardiff Deputy Manager, says: “Buddy and Maxie make a great pair. They’re super fun to be around and will bring so much joy to their forever home! Maxie is a very affectionate boy, who will happily snuggle up on your lap, Buddy will often let Maxie have all the fuss and affection first, but he soon follows for some cuddles!”

Maxie

Maxie and Buddy are both a great balance of fun and calm, who do enjoy some peace and quiet sometimes, so they would much prefer a home with any children aged 14 and over. They are both happy to be left alone for a few hours, but would much rather be left alone together.

Kim says: “Don’t be fooled by Maxie’s age, he is full of energy and loves heading out on walks with his best friend! Buddy may be little, but he’s packed with character! He gains a lot of confidence when he is around Maxie and when they are together, his true, fun-loving personality comes out!

“Sometimes people are put off by rehoming a pair of dogs – welcoming one let alone two dogs into your home is of course a huge commitment but it also means double the love and rewards so fingers crossed we will be waving a fond farewell to Maxie and Buddy soon.”
