Big friendly giant (BFG’s) pooches looking forever homes this Roald Dahl Day

This Roald Dahl Day (13 September), Dogs Trust Canterbury is currently home to their very own BFG’s (big, friendly giants).

Hoping that they will soon find the golden ticket to a forever home, these pooches are optimistic new owners will see that big is beautiful too.

Two-year old Labrador Cross, Sandy

Diego is a six-year old Akita who loves exploring and enjoys training, especially where a ‘scrumdiddlyumptious’ treat or two is involved. The centre advises that he will need a quiet adult-only home, as he can be worried by new people and dogs.

Stunning Sandy is a two-year old Labrador Cross Mastiff who can often be found ‘frothbuggling’ with her teddies and squeaky toys. However, silliness aside, she is also a nervous girl who worries about the big wide world and thrives on routine. Sandy will need confident, adult owners with no other pets. Sandy loves exploring with her nose and will make you ‘churgle’ with laughter if you give her the chance.

Cheeky Chase is a two-year old Pointer who thinks walks are the most ‘fantabulous’ thing ever. Whilst he can be worries by new people, if they have something ‘delumptious’ to offer him, he soon coms around. True to his name he has a high chase drive and playing fetch with his tennis ball stops him from becoming too sad or ‘scrotty’ whilst he awaits his forever home. Chase can live with another dog provided meets go well and can live with teens over 16.

Dogs Trust Canterbury’s Rehoming Centre Manager, Harriet Blaskett, said: “Our BFGs are just that, soppy giants once you get to know them who just want love. Each one has a brilliant personality, as big as their body to match. We really hope they find their special someone very soon. Staff at the rehoming centre are “biggsquiggled’ as to why these lovely hounds have not yet been snapped up.”

If you think that you are the idea ‘human bean’ and have a ‘phizz-whizing’ home for one of these gorgeous characters, you can call the rehoming centre on 0300 303 0292.
