Bought By Many is new sponsor of Paul O’Grady: For the Love of Dogs

Bought By Many pet insurance has been announced as the new sponsor of hit ITV show – Paul O’Grady: For the Love of Dogs.

The show returns on April 7 for five new episodes and follows the ups and downs of life at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home as they care for our four-legged friends in need.

Ryan Wheaton Head of Marketing for Bought By Many, said: “We’re immensely pleased to be partnering with ITV and STV on this series of the renowned For the Love of Dogs. We love that it celebrates so many special pet moments, educates people about the work of rehoming centres, and highlights this challenges many pets and owners face.”

In addition to an on-screen presence, the award-winning pet insurance provider, Bought By Many, will promote the partnership across social media, competitions and content, with the aim of reaching the nation’s growing number of pet owners.

Last year (2020) proved to be the year of the pet, with Bought By Many reporting a 66% increase in sales compared to 2019, as pet parents around the UK looked to welcome pets home.

Ryan Wheaton added: “Pets have provided all-important companionship and routine throughout the Covid lockdowns. Many welcomes a new pet into their home over the last year, and we were keen to promote responsible pet ownership to avoid unnecessary distress or rehoming. We are encouraged that so many people have chosen to take pet insurance cover, as it shows they are thinking about their pet’s long-term health.”

The sponsorship is the latest in the company’s strategy to be an active part of the pet parent community. Recently, it announced the success of its latest charity fundraiser ‘Step Into 2021’ which raised a total of £16,875 for its chosen charity partners, Street Vet, the charity offering free accessible vet care to pets belonging to those experiencing homelessness around the UK, and Mind, the mental health charity.

The month-long step-based challenge kicked off in January and encouraged Bought By Many team members, customers and vet partners to walk as many steps as possible while raising money for charity, with many participants pledging the steps they took as part of their daily dog walks.

Ryan said: “Going out of our way to support our pet parent customers during the past 12 months has been important to us. We launched the challenge to help them feel connected and motivated to safely enjoy time outdoors, while raising money for two important charities. We were blown away by the level of support and love celebrating the benefits that regular walks with our dogs can provide.”

Paul O’Grady: For the Love of Dogs will air on ITV and STV at 8pm on Wednesday evenings from April 7 and on the ITV Hub.
