Can you help to make it a pawfect Christmas for dogs in need?

Staff and four-legged residents at Dogs Trust Basildon are appealing for the public and local businesses to donate prizes for their Christmas Fair.

Dogs Trust Basildon are hoping that generous members of the public and local businesses will help to make this year’s Christmas Fair a huge success by donating prizes for their raffle and tombola.

The fair takes place at the rehoming centre on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th November from 11am to 3pm and donations for the tombola will be welcomed to help raise pounds for homeless hounds.

The team at the Basildon rehoming centre are hoping everything from bottles of wine and chocolates to teddy bears and toiletries and vouchers for spa treatments and experience days will be donated for the day.

Kent Lowe, Supporter Relations Officer at Dogs Trust Basildon said: “Our slogan is ‘A dog is for life, not just for Christmas’ but unfortunately many dogs find themselves without a home and at least 80 will be with us on Christmas Day this year.

“Our Christmas Fair is a key event for us as it raises much needed funds so we can give the dogs everything they need at Christmas and every day they are with us. With just a few weeks to go we are hoping that once again kind-hearted dog lovers will be as generous as they have been in previous years and help make the day a great success.”

Visitors to the fair will be treated to carol singers to entertain, a raffle and a tombola as well as enjoying Christmas refreshments. There will be gift stalls and fun activities for two and four-legged friends too.

If you would like to donate prizes to the fair staff ask that they are taken to the rehoming centre, on Nevendon Road, Wickford.
