Cocker Spaniel sisters looking for their fur-ever home

Two 14-year old Cocker Spaniel sister are looking for their fur-ever home.

Dogs Trust Shrewsbury are looking for a retirement home where two devoted sisters who have never spent a day apart can spend their twilight years.

Cocker Spaniels Maddie and Whisper who are 14 are enjoying living in Oakfield Oldies, the special onsite house for older dogs at the rehoming centre, but the team hope they will be walking through the front door of a home of their own very soon.

Sue Bromley, Dogs Trust Shrewsbury Assistant Manager, said: “They are totally inseparable and absolutely gorgeous. They don’t ask for much in life and are no trouble at all. All they want are pleasant short walks followed by long snoozes together. Due to their advancing years they are both deaf, but it doesn’t stop them doing what they want to do. They are simply lovely, and we would love to fund them a forever home as soon as possible.”

Maddie and Whisper have lived together all their lives and are very friendly – they love to meet new people and other dogs. They have found themselves without a forever home due to a change in their owner’s circumstances and now the team are hoping that this devoted duo find their special someone at the double.

Sue adds: “We sometimes find that older dogs stay with us longer than the younger ones but there are lots of advantages to having an older dog. They are often very laid back, used to living in a home and don’t need as much exercise, just lots of cuddles. That is definitely the case for these two.

“They stole our hearts as soon as they arrived, and we really feel any home would be lucky to have them. We’re hoping that someone has room in their hearts and their home for these two. They will definitely get double the love in return.”

If you think you could offer a loving home to Maddie and Whisper or to find out more, you can contact 0300 303 0292 or visit www.dogstrust.org.uk.
