Could Patrick be the pooch for you?

Dogs Trust Basildon is appealing for a forever home for energetic crossbreed Patrick.

If you’re looking for an active and energetic dog, 18-month old Patrick could be the dog for you.

Patrick is an inquisitive boy who loves to explore and would love to live an outdoorsy life, full of adventure. He is a clever dog who is learning quickly at the rehoming centre and he really enjoys his sessions with the training team.

As Patrick is young, he’ll need owners who can keep him occupied, but he loves to play with toys and would play all day given the chance. He ended up at Dogs Trust Basildon without any history, so prospective owners will need to be experienced, but he’ll be a really rewarding training project for the right person as he’s such a fun little dog.

The staff at the rehoming centre advise that Patrick is looking for a quiet home in a rural location, to give him space to work on his confidence around other dogs.

A spokesperson commented: “He needs access to a secure garden where he can run around, let off steam and sniff to his heart’s content. Patrick needs a home with a maximum of two people, preferably with no visiting children, and he needs to be the only pet. Adopters will need to get to know Patrick here at the centre before taking him home, so if you’re interested, you’ll need to be willing to visit him several times to make friends with him.”

Dogs Trust Basildon staff think that playful Patrick will make a lovely pet in the right home, he just needs someone to give him a chance.
