Fish4Dogs spreads ‘fishmas’ joy to rescue dogs & cats

Christmas came early for borders at a Worcester animal rescue centre when the CEO of Fish4Dogs played Santa.

CEO Graham meets Stella and Sally Shepherd at WARS

Graham Smith delivered a host of festive goodies in order to spread a little ‘fishmas’ joy to cats and dogs currently waiting for their forever homes.

Fish4Dogs is a long-term supported of the Worcester Animal Rescue Shelter (WARS) and their CEO dropped off food, treats and warm bedding to be shared amongst the 12 dogs and 5 cats currently boarded at the centre.

As well as dropping off the treats Graham also took the opportunity to spend some time with the animals at the centre, including Stella.

Stella is a four-year old lurcher- Staffordshire bull terrier cross, who lapped up the attention and the chance to be rewarded with some tasty treats.

She has been at the shelter for two months and is desperate for someone to offer her a loving home. The brindle and white dog has been through some touch times – although WARS do not know her history – it is believed she had a bad start in life. She bears scars which are particularly visible around her ankles.

The team at WARS advise that Stella would need to be the only pet in a new home, but she gets along with other dogs when out and about. She needs plenty of physical and mental stimulation, which will, no doubt, be rewarded with endless love and affection for her new owner.

Amongst the gifts donated by Fish4Dogs, were bags of its award-winning Sea Jerky, a range of baked fish skin treats, luxurious Calamari Rings, Finest Complete Dog Food, and, of course Fish4Dogs’ Christmas Crackers.

The cats at WARS were given gifts of Finest Complete and complimentary food as well as goody bags.

CEO of Fish4Dogs, Graham Smith, said: “It was lovely to spread some cheer at this wonderful rescue centre where the cats and dogs are all so well looked after. We’ve supported WARS for a number of years and they have a great facility and a really caring team.”

Shelter Manager, Claire Tergunna, said: “We were delighted to receive a visit from Santa Graham. Christmas is a time when most animal lovers get to spend extra time with their cherished pets and perhaps spoil them a little. The Fish4Dogs and Fish4Cats goodies will help make the festive season a little more special for our rescues who are waiting to begin the next chapter in their lives. However, our team of enthusiastic volunteers will ensure that all our dogs and cats are given individual attention with plenty of exercise over the festive season.

“We’re grateful for the support that Fish4Dogs gives us now and all year round with its regular donation of food and treats to help us care for our dogs and cats.”
