Fish4Dogs support charity dog shows

A series of fun dog shows in Staffordshire, supported by Fish4Dogs, has raised more than £1,000 for charities.

Midfield K9 Academy, run by Lynne Bakker-Collier, staged three events throughout the summer; June, August and September as its training grounds in Oulton, Stone, Staffordshire.

Fish4Dogs donated goody bags for the winners of all classes which included bags of Sea Jerky Treats, samples of Finest Complete dry food and money-off vouchers.

Kennel Club registered judge Helen Fletcher managed each of the shows, which had three different judges to assess competitors in pedigree, novelty and obedience classes. They were:

June – Lea Vaughan

August – Alan Milward

Sept – Joanne McLachlan

The Mayor of Stafford Borough, Councillor Gareth Jones, also attended the August show and presented the ‘Best in Show’ for the pedigree classes.

In addition to the action in the show ring, there were ‘have a go’ agility sessions and scurry races which saw participants flying across the training field.

A total of £1020 was raised from the three shows which will be divided between three charities: Guide Dogs for the Blind UK, Stafford and Cannock League of Hospital Friends and the lymphedema clinic at Katherine House Hospice.

Lynne Bakker-Collier said: “I want to thank everyone who gave up their time, donated prizes for the raffle, came along and took part and generally supported the dog shows. We’ve had lots of positive feedback from those who attended. They appreciated the rosettes, trophies and the goody bags from Fish4Dogs received rave reviews.”

Jo Little, Head of Marketing at Fish4Dogs commented: “We are delighted to have supported such a worthwhile endeavour to raise money for charity through providing dog lovers and opportunity to socialise and have fun with their dogs.

“It is important for us to support shows that don’t have big brand sponsorship and provide dog owners with access to great products that are healthy and nutritious.”
