Orphaned kittens at Battersea looking for new home

Two kittens at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home are looking for a new home after they were orphaned earlier this month.

Tragically, the kitten’s mother was killed in a road traffic accident and they were found by a member of the public in Slough.

Having such a tragic start to life, the young cats have developed a very strong bond and can often be found playing or cuddling up together for a snooze. As well as siblings, the pair are very much best friends, too.

Their love for playing, attention and occasionally ‘singing’ has led to staff at Battersea to name the pair Bennie and Jet, in tribute to Sir Elton John.

Taz Willis, Cattery Intake Coordinator at Battersea Old Windsor, said: “Although Bennie and Jet are still very young, they both have such big personalities, just like Sir Elton John, they are larger than life and love to have all of the attention that they can get.

“Being kittens, they sometimes do like to express themselves with their voices. Although they may not be as tuneful as Sir Elton, they have been very entertaining additions to our cattery and have definitely made all of the staff and volunteers here laugh and smile.”

Staff at Battersea advise that Bennie and Jet are looking for new bandmates who are able to keep up with their cheeky antics and demands for attention, as well as a home where they can enjoy a nice afternoon nap together.

Once Bennie and Jet are a bit older, they will be ready to tour the outside world together so will need outside access, with a. cat flap if owners work full-time.

Taz continues: “Bennie and Jet are such an adorable pair, we’re sure it won’t take long to find them the perfect home. If you’re interested in rehoming a rescue cat, please contact Battersea Old Windsor cattery on 01784 494460 or email [email protected].”
