Dogs Trust Host Emotion and Behaviour Conference for Dog Care Professionals

The UK’s largest dog welfare charity Dogs Trust is calling on dog care professionals to attend the charity’s first ever dog emotion and behaviour conference aimed at the pet care sector.

The conference – The Key to Success: Emotion and Behaviour for Dog Care Professionals – takes place in Scotland on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st May at the Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel in Glasgow.  

The event is aimed at dog care professionals and anyone who is considering a career working with dogs and will offer support with high-welfare and evidence-based professional development opportunities. Dog walkers, dog day care providers, groomers, dog sitters, boarders and anyone working with dogs would benefit from attending in order to boost their business and provide clients with the best services and standard of care.

Attendees can expect a series of talks from experts in dog behaviour including Dr Rachel Casey, Director of Canine Behaviour and Research at Dogs Trust; River McDonald, Director of Edinburgh Dog Behaviour and Stephanie Zikmann, Founder of the Holistic Grooming Academy.  

Talks will cover subjects including dealing with challenging behaviours in practice and owner communication, and emotional wellbeing for pet professionals. There will also be a number of workshops on topics such as diffusing emotional situations and putting communication into practice.  Throughout the conference there will be opportunities for questions to be asked and to engage in open discussion as well as to network with other professionals.

Attendees can join in-person for two days with an overnight stay in the Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel, with all meals included in the ticket price, or there is the option to join online.
