EVERY DOG HAS ITS DAY – AND TODAY IT’S ‘MOP’S’, THE GIANT ANIMATRONIC SHEEPDOG ROAMING THE UK

Bosch reveals nation is wasting 12 days a year cleaning up after pets and unveils new innovation to save time

Today, research has revealed that Brits spend up to 12 days per year, 46 minutes per day on ‘time-sucking’ activities. Bosch has launched its first 2in1 cordless vacuum and mop, the Unlimited 7 Aqua, to help busy Brits get time back in their hectic lives.

Partnering with Bosch is dog and nature lover Helen Skelton, who was spotted in Battersea Park with ‘Mop’. With more than a quarter (26 per cent) of the nation revealing they forego dog walks to avoid mess, Bosch has built ‘Mop The Dog’ to showcase how easy it can now be to clean up after those muddy mutts.

Stopping passersby in their tracks, the giant animatronic dog – who is 2m tall, took over 2,000 hours to build and is made with over 300 mop heads that are now redundant thanks to the new innovation – created a mess of epic proportions as he shook himself clean.

Sorting the mess pets and children make were listed as one of the more frustrating time-sucking tasks making 53 per cent of Brits feel less productive than they’d like, with 35 per cent of Brits want to spend less time dusting and polishing, 29 per cent less time vacuuming and a fifth less mopping.

Helen Skelton, said: “I’m no stranger to mud in the house – we absolutely love getting outside but it’s either kids or dogs traipsing it through the house after a long walk.  I hugely relate to the fact that Brits feel they are wasting time cleaning up after them – we love them dearly, but they are messy. I’m really pleased to be involved in this campaign to tackle some of these time-sucking activities and give parents even just a little bit of time back for themselves.”

Making light work of mud and mess, the Bosch Unlimited 7 Aqua is equipped with an automatic water supply for the perfect level of moisture each time. Dried-on stains like orange juice and ketchup, are cleaned in a breeze, even on delicate floors. There’s no need to wring out, like with a traditional mop, and the floor dries in next to no time as the spinning cleaning pads only use the exact amount of water needed.

A spokesperson for Bosch UK said: “We know there’s more to life than cleaning – that’s why we want to create products that make getting chores done a doddle.

“We believe that there should be less time spent scrubbing and more time for us to spend however we want – whether that’s enjoying the company of our family or playing with the pets. We’re so excited to take Mop on a walk up and down the country, not only to bring a smile to those who see him, but to demonstrate how easy it is to avoid daily time suckers.”

The Unlimited 7 Aqua will be available for purchase via the BOSCH website, retailing at £499.99 from 18th April 2024.
