Lily’s Kitchen celebrates the Coronation with four-legged ‘Royal Family’

A Royal paw-trait has been released today to celebrate the upcoming Coronation of HM King Charles III.

n a nod to the Royal Family’s famously long-standing love of dogs, pet food brand, Lily’s Kitchen, has found and photographed their own canine Royal Family to reimagine an official paw-trait of the senior Royals.

For centuries, monarchs have cared for pups of all shapes and sizes, including Corgis, Labrador Retrievers, Jack Russell Terriers, and Cocker Spaniels – many of whom have even featured in Royal portraiture.

Chosen for their special qualities and attributes, the ‘Pawronation pack’ is made up of popular breeds playing the roles of senior Royals including a regal looking Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (of course), a glossily coiffured Afghan Hound and an immaculately turned-out Bichon Frise.

Pet parents know best!If you’re having guests over remember, as with any day, YOU know your dog best! A lot of people will be having a bit of a knees up to welcome in our new King, so remember your pet’s needs. If they’re on the shy side, make sure they have somewhere safe to retire to and, of course, if they’re more like my girl Nala and love to be the centre of attention (not to mention mischievous), make sure to keep an eye out and give them time outs to help avoid them getting over excited.
Party foodThere’s no doubt that we’ll be including themed food in our coronation celebrations over the long weekend, but a lot of our favourite treats can actually be really bad for our furry family members. Make sure you keep those party snacks well out of reach from naughty noses! Luckily, they don’t need to be left out of the celebrations though. Why not let your pup join in with the delicious Coronation Chicken recipe from Lily’s Kitchen. It’s a fantastic, pet-friendly twist on a much-loved dish and is a great source of protein.
Out and aboutIf you’re going to the pub, heading to celebrations at a friend’s house or taking in some of the National celebrations in another busy environment like a street party, try and think about your dogs too. If you’re going for less than 3-4 hours then maybe home is the best place for them, but if your trip is a whole family affair, then of course remember the essentials. A Lily’s Kitchen On The Go Bar, plenty of water and a nice bed to settle on!
