Pets At Home Foundation launches appeal to raise £2m for animal charities this Christmas

The Pets at Home Foundation has launched its annual festive fundraising initiative with more ways for people to donate than ever before as it aims to raise £2 million to support organisations working with animals.

All money raised by the appeal will go to support more than 300 organisations across the UK that provide vital support for rescue centres and other animal charities, as well as those that help people through pets.

The charity has launched a number of initiatives over the festive period to help hit its £2 million target.

In partnership with Pets at Home it is offering customers the chance to get their hands – and paws – on a festive bowtie and bandana from its limited edition Foundation Christmas Collection, with all profits donated to the Santa Paws appeal.

Pets at Home has also launched a social media challenge asking pet owners to share images of their pets raising their paws through the ‘Add Yours’ feature on Instagram stories. In return, Pets at Home will donate 50p to Pets at Home Foundation’s appeal*.

Amy Wilson, Fundraising Manager at Pets at Home Foundation, said: “As the UK continues to experience a rise in the cost of living, we know pet owners and animal charities are doing everything they can to care for much loved animals. Their work is now more important than ever, but we also understand the current climate is also more challenging than ever.

“We know the funding we provide to these organisations makes such a difference, which is why it’s so important to us that we make this our biggest Christmas fundraiser to date.

“We’re always amazed by the level of support we get from our customers, and with more ways than ever to get involved in the appeal, we’re hoping that we can raise even more for organisations that really need our help. We know that many people are facing a tough Christmas this year, and we are thankful for even very small donations that together will help to make a huge difference.”

Pets at Home customers can also donate to the Santa Paws appeal in one of the 450 stores across the UK or online, and customers of The Groom Room can support by booking a festive spa package, with £1 from every booking going to support the Santa paws appeal.

The Pets at Home Foundation supports rescue and rehoming organisations, and charities that work alongside pets and the people that love them, through grant giving and community partnerships.
