Scooby-dooby-do you think you could give a home to Dillon the dog?

It’s a mystery why a fun-loving dog who resembles the famous Scooby Doo is still searching for his forever home after being in RSPCA care for over a year.

Dillon the doberman arrived at the RSPCA’s Millbrook Animal Centre in Surrey after being found wandering the streets covered in bite wounds on Christmas Day in 2021.

Just like Scooby Doo, Dillon is so incredibly loyal and loving – and is quite a character.

Liz Wood, deputy manager at Millbrook, said: “Dillon has come from a difficult background and initially he was so nervous – he shut down and was worried by everything. But over time his confidence has grown so much.

“Although he is six years old, he is reliving his teenage years and can jump up and get quite excited at times but he is learning better manners around people.”

Dillon would be best suited to being the only pet in the home as at the moment he does not cope well with other dogs. He is also best suited to an adult-only environment with people around most of the day as he gets anxious when on his own – but with time and patience, once he is settled into his new home it is hoped this will improve.

Liz added: “Dillon is a large doberman and can be very strong so he needs a confident and capable handler as he will react to dogs from a distance. He will need new owners who have previous experience with dobermans or large dogs who are confident to continue his reward-based training.

“He is incredibly devoted to the people in his life and he would offer unconditional love to his new family. This handsome boy really deserves a second chance to live the rest of his life with the love and care he so desperately deserves. We really hope to solve the mystery as to why he hasn’t found his perfect home yet.”
