TV icon Peter Purves returns to Crufts with YuMOVE

Broadcaster Peter Purves will be returning to Crufts with a new role on behalf of YuMOVE – a joint supplement that helps keep dogs active for life.

Last year, Peter, who has a stellar 60-year career in TV broadcasting in shows such as Dr Who, Blue Peter and Good Morning Britain, was deemed too old to continue his commenting role at the prestigious dogs show, Crufts.

Peter will be behind the scenes again at the world’s greatest dog show, 5-8 March 2020, presenting a daily show that will be broadcast on YuMOVE’s social media channels. And hosting a Twitter Q&A and Facebook Live show.

He will also be spearheading a YuMOVE campaign ‘Life in the old dog yet’ encouraging dog owners to think more regularly about how quickly their dogs age and providing guidance to help dogs live their most active life, for life.

Commenting on the announcement, Peter Purves said: “It’s great to be involved with Crufts, something that has been a huge part of my life for the past 41 years and it just shows there’s certainly life in the old dog yet. We all get older, both humans and dogs, but with the right support and by staying active, we can remain happy and healthy and keep doing the things we love – so here I am.”

Gemma Cunningham, Campaign Manager at YuMOVE said: “YuMOVE’s mission is to help keep dogs active for life and in Peter we’ve found the perfect voice to help encourage this movement. We’re delighted that he has joined the team.”
