Pooch & Mutt announces winner of Christmas 2022 advent calendar design competition

Earlier this year, Pooch & Mutt launched its Christmas 2022 advent calendar design competition, where it invited artsy, dog-loving children across the UK to design its 2022 advent calendar packaging.

The brand was inundated with entries from hundreds of children, but only one lucky child could win.

This year’s winner is Eliza Cook, aged 15, from London. Emma Frain, Head of Brand at Pooch & Mutt said, “We had so many entries this year, which made choosing a winner very difficult. However, we felt that Eliza’s design was a really great fit for the brand. We absolutely loved her use of bold, block colours, which reminded us of our own packaging.”

Speaking about her design, Emily said, “I got the inspiration for my design from my own schnauzer Peggy – who is in the design. She loves opening presents at Christmas, which I knew I wanted to capture with the open present on the back!”

“I used colouring pencils for my design and had a lot of fun creating it as I did it as a break from end-of-year exam revision!”

Not only did Emily draw inspiration from her own pooch, but she also included other dogs that she knows, “The names on the tags are all dogs that I know in real life. As I have said, my dog Peggy is the Schnauzer on the front and back and the other names and dogs illustrated are of some of my friends’ dogs.”

Once the calendar launches, it will go on to make thousands of dogs happy this Christmas and Emily is pretty excited about that, “I’m really excited to know that my design will be sold to so many dogs across the country, and I can’t wait for Peggy to have one!”

“She loves treats so I knew this calendar would be perfect for her and she also loves Christmas time because she’s spoilt with toys!”

The Pooch & Mutt advent calendar, launching on 3rd October 2022, will be supporting Woodgreen Pets Charity, and each calendar sold will support a dog in need, providing every dog in their care with a special Christmas dinner this year.
