Beautiful Bella awaits her happy ever after

Just like Belle in Beauty and the Beast, beautiful, brave and intelligent Bella the lurcher awaits her happy ever after.

Who is going to whisk her off her feet to her new forever home is yet to be established, but the team at Dogs Trust Darlington are ready for when that day comes.

Little is known about six-year-old Bella’s background as she arrived in Dogs Trust care as a stray from Ireland.

Alex Hennessey, Manager at Dogs Trust Darlington Rehoming Centre, said: “Bella is our heroine as she has had an unsettled time and yet her playful personality always shines through.  She is a fun and lively girl who likes to be the centre of attention.  Bella loves company and she has been a star with her training.  She happily demonstrates sit to perfection, especially if there is any food on offer, and she has been enjoying learning new tricks with our training and behaviour team.

“Playing is definitely a favourite pastime and it is when Bella’s character fully comes to life. She would like to be the only pet in her new home with access to a secure off lead garden in which she can play to her hearts content.  We hope it won’t be long before our beautiful Bella gets her happy ending and goes home to her Château de Chambord.”

Bella is one of Dogs Trust Darlington’s underdogs having been in the charity’s care for more than six months.  Lurchers were the third most popular breed rehomed by Dogs Trust last year with 527 finding loving new homes. She is one of 10 lurchers currently at Darlington Rehoming Centre patiently waiting to be adopted.
