UK dog charities recognised for life-changing work by leading online store and dog-owner community

Seven UK dog charities have received a life-changing prize from Your Dog’s Club to reward and recognise their dedication to all things dog.

The announcement comes after a two-month competition in which the public nominated and voted for their favourite UK dog charity to become ‘Golden Shareholders’ and reap multiple rewards including £1,000 worth of shares, product donations up to the value of £50 per month, cash contributions and more!

After counting over 4,500 votes, the final seven winners are: Doris Banham Dog Rescue, Northern Ireland Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue, St Giles Animal Centre, Medical Detection Dogs, Service Dogs UK, Central German Shepherd Rescue and Oakwood Dog Rescue.

From rescuing homeless dogs, providing life-saving care, and training dogs to detect life-threatening diseases and support those in need, Your Dog’s Club wanted to give back to the charity sector for their tremendous work caring for the nation’s best friend.

Jon Ralph, founder and managing director at Your Dog’s Club, said: “As a community of likeminded dog owners, we wanted our commitment to delivering unconditional love to not only shine through the products and tips we provide, but also in the actions we take to help other dog owners and the wider community.

“That’s why we’re extremely pleased to reward these fantastic charities with a host of pawsome rewards to celebrate their dedication to dogs across the UK.”

Trudie James, founder of Doris Banham Dog Rescue, said: “Becoming a Golden Shareholder means the world to us. We are the ‘last chance to live’ for the dogs we rescue because they have been thrown away and deemed not worthy of living by our society. Thank you so much to Your Dog’s Club for making this possible.”
